Job Description
Job description We are seeking an experienced Oncology infusion nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team on an as-needed (per diem) basis. This position is ideal for a skilled oncology nurse looking for additional hours. Responsibilities Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusion medications following established protocols and safety standards. Monitor patients' vital signs, assess their physical and emotional responses, and respond promptly to any adverse reactions or complications. Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medication side effects, and self-care techniques to promote understanding and compliance Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EMR (Nextgen, Epic), ensuring all patient records are complete and up to date. Cooperate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, pharmacists, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive patient care Follow strict aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infections and ensure patient safety during infusions. Assist with triage assessments for new or ongoing patients, prioritizing care based on acuity levels in accordance with hospital protocols. Other duties as assigned
