RN for Adult Medical Day Care LifeLine Adult Medical Day Care 2525 Lord Baltimore Drive, Windsor Mill, MD 21244 $23.68 - $28.52 an hour - Full-time $23.68 - $28.52 an hour - Full-time Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Adult Medical Day Care, where your expertise will directly enhance the quality of life for adult patients requiring ongoing medical management in a supportive community setting. In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care, coordinate treatment plans, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for individuals with diverse medical needs. Your energy and dedication will help foster a nurturing atmosphere that promotes health, independence, and dignity. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and review of medical histories to determine individualized care plans. Administer medications and treatments such as IV infusions, injections, and wound suturing following strict aseptic techniques and HIPAA guidelines. Monitor patients for acute pain management, respiratory issues, cardiac concerns, and infectious disease symptoms; respond promptly to emergent situations with appropriate triage protocols. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care strategies aligned with best practices in geriatrics, memory care, behavioral health, and long-term care settings. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner to document patient care accurately, including medication administration, laboratory results, and diagnostic evaluations. Educate patients and their families on health coaching topics such as nutrition, medication management, and discharge planning to promote ongoing wellness at home or in assisted living environments. Ensure compliance with all safety standards including infection control procedures, sterile processing protocols, and OSHA regulations during procedures like phlebotomy or specimen collection. Experience Valid RN license with current state registration; prior experience in medical-surgical units or hospital medicine strongly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10) is advantageous. Experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospital settings (Level I Trauma Center or ICU), outpatient clinics, nursing homes, or home care services. Knowledge of complex patient populations such as those requiring dialysis, ostomy care, ventilator management, or post-acute care services like hospice & palliative medicine. Skilled in advanced nursing procedures including IV insertion, catheterization (urinary or vascular), tube feeding management, and aseptic techniques. Background working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; experience in geriatrics or memory/dementia care is highly valued. Strong understanding of critical care principles including trauma medicine, infectious disease control, acute pain management, and emergency triage protocols.
