MVS Woundcare & Hyperbarics is seeking a skilled and compassionate Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (CHRN) for a day-shift-only role with fixed hours and no on-call requirements . This position is ideal for candidates seeking a transition from high-stress bedside environments into a specialized, structured, and patient-centered setting, with on-site training provided . You will work in a calm, controlled clinical environment focused on advanced wound healing and hyperbaric medicine, delivering one-on-one patient care while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Safely administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy while continuously monitoring patient status and vital signs. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history review and physical evaluations prior to treatment. Operate, monitor, and maintain monoplace hyperbaric chambers and all associated systems and equipment. Supervise preparation of chambers, equipment, medications, and supplies for scheduled treatments. Monitor patients and hyperbaric systems throughout treatment and respond promptly to clinical changes. Educate patients and families regarding HBOT procedures, safety protocols, and post-treatment care. Document all patient care accurately in the EMR/EHR system ( Athenahealth ) in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain operational, safety, and maintenance logs with required signatures. Report unusual occurrences or adverse events to the supervising physician and document accordingly. Ensure strict adherence to infection control, safety standards, and NFPA Class B regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of chambers, equipment, and clinical areas. Coordinate with physicians, wound care specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes. Participate in quality assurance, utilization review, and performance improvement initiatives. Follow all MVS Woundcare & Hyperbarics policies, procedures, and dress code requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland. Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification required. Completion of an approved 40-hour basic hyperbaric medicine course (renewable every two years). Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems , preferably Athenahealth. Strong clinical knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation. Experience with IV insertion, infusions, and medication administration. Knowledge of infection control and sterile processing practices. Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, remain calm under pressure, and manage multiple priorities. Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient privacy and HIPAA compliance .
