Local, Direct Hire (On-site)Qualifications / Job Requirements- Minimum 2 years of recent stroke experience preferred (stroke nurse experience)
- Active RN license in Maryland or a valid Compact RN license
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- EKG/telemetry proficiency and comfort interpreting cardiac rhythms
- Experience using mRS (Modified Rankin Scale) and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- At least 1 year of clinical experience in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting or similar hospital unitResponsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients
- Monitor and interpret EKGs and continuous telemetry; respond to cardiac and neurological changes
- Perform stroke assessments using NIHSS and mRS and incorporate findings into care plans
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, care plans, and post-discharge instructions focused on stroke recovery
