Job Description

•The ability to travel between office locations is required. •Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. No weekends or call. Paid holidays off. Specifically looking for a nurse to work in the Westminster, Pikesville, and Cockeysville offices. Certain clinic locations open certain days Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wound Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing with specialized knowledge in wound care management. This role is essential for providing high-quality care to patients with complex wounds, ensuring optimal healing and recovery. The Wound Care Nurse will work closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans.
RN Pay Range:
$35-40/hr
LPN Pay Range:
$28-32/hr Duties Accepts floating assignments to other MVS Woundcare & Hyperbarics offices as necessary. Attends scheduled MVS Woundcare & Hyperbarics staff and mandatory nursing meetings. Maintains a clean and professional appearance. Assess and evaluate patients' wounds, documenting findings accurately. Develop individualized care plans based on assessment data and patient needs. Administer wound care treatments and therapies according to established protocols. Educate patients and their families on wound care techniques and prevention strategies. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary to promote healing. Provide support in pain management related to wound care procedures. Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and outcomes. Responsible for infection control and housekeeping in patient care areas. Safe storage and use of topical wound treatments, primary wound dressings, and sharp surgical instruments. Performs patient and family teaching using written materials, verbal communication and demonstration. Obtain vital signs at each visit. Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing clinical skill strategies. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, policies, rules and regulations. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration, storage procedures. Follow CDC hand washing guidelines. Maintains continuity among nursing team by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs of patients. Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy. Follows HIPAA rules and regulations. Ensures operation of equipment by completing checks and quality assurance tests. Performs wound assessment, reassessment and management for all patients. Knowledge of the anatomy and physiology, and disorders of the dermal systems. Utilizes principles of current wound management theory when providing care to patients with acute and chronic wounds. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of staging system of wounds. Knowledge of surgical procedures and surgical instruments used in wound healing center. Demonstrates knowledge and skill to develop and implement policies and procedures to manage patients with draining wounds, wound prevention, wound care, and incontinence care. Ability to assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates patient and family regarding pain management. Demonstrates ability to perform treatments and provide services to level licensure. Knowledgeable of medications, wound dressings and their correct administration. Communicates appropriately and clearly to nurse managers, nursing staff and physicians. Documentation meets current standards and practices. Knowledgeable of the clinical products currently available on the market. Meets with sales representatives, evaluates products. Makes recommendations for products and equipment. Operates all equipment correctly and safely. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations. Performs wound photography at required intervals. Competent to apply safe compression therapies in a range of clinical diagnoses. Competent to apply padding for Total Contact Casts, and remove Total Contact Cast safely using a cast saw. Qualifications Maintain current nursing license (RN/LPN) in the state of Maryland. Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications. Strong knowledge of physiology as it relates to wound healing. Experience in inpatient settings or assisted living facilities preferred. Previous experience in travel nursing, home health or hospital medicine is advantageous. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a compassionate approach to patient care. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to see color, and adjust to focus. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, and blood borne pathogens. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The ability to travel between office locations may be required. The ability to work outside of normal office hours is not the norm but may occasionally be necessary to provide timely patient care.
