Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Take your nursing skills beyond the traditional clinical setting and make a meaningful difference in the life of a student as a school-based 1:1 Registered Nurse. This is a contract, year-round opportunity in a supportive educational environment, located near Auburn, Maine, with daily duties on a welcoming campus in Saco. You'll collaborate closely with educators, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver personalized care, ensure student well-being, and help facilitate both learning and safety in a school community.
Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine (required) Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred Ability to assess, plan, and deliver individualized nursing care Strong communication and organizational skills Compassion, patience, and adaptability working 1:1 with students
Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 direct nursing care to a designated student throughout the school day and, as needed, during school activities Monitor and document health status, administer medications, and perform medical procedures as required by the student's care plan Collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare providers to coordinate care and advocate for student needs Respond to medical emergencies and implement appropriate interventions Educate and support school staff regarding the student's healthcare requirements and best practices In this role, you'll become a vital figure in a student's educational journey, offering continuity, trust, and expert care all year long.
