Job Description

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a meaningful difference this summer by supporting students as a Registered Nurse during an ESY (Extended School Year) program. This rewarding contract opportunity offers the chance to work close to South Paris, ME, providing attentive and compassionate healthcare to elementary, middle, or high school students. We are seeking three dedicated nurses: one for a one-on-one nursing assignment, and two to oversee general nursing needs across different age groups. These in-person roles run from July 6 through July 30, following a Monday-Thursday schedule. General nursing positions are 5 hours per day, while the 1:1 nurse position is 4 hours daily. Elementary hours are 9:00am-1:00pm; middle and high school hours are 8:00am-12:00pm.
Desired Qualifications:
Current RN license in Maine Experience in a school, camp, or pediatric setting preferred Ability to assess student health concerns and respond decisively and compassionately Excellent communication and organizational skills Demonstrated reliability and initiative, particularly in independent or one-on-one nursing scenarios Commitment to maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all students
Responsibilities Include:
Provide direct care and manage health issues or emergencies for students as needed Oversee medication administration and treatment plans Monitor for symptoms of illness, injury, or contagion and respond according to protocol Communicate clearly with staff, students, and occasionally parents or guardians Document health interventions and maintain accurate nursing records Embrace the summer with a purposeful position where your clinical skills and caring presence truly matter.
