Job Description

Hospice of Lenawee is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a part-time after-hours (nights & weekends) position supporting patients and families in their homes. This role is ideal for a nurse who values autonomy, meaningful connections, and providing comfort during the end-of-life journey. Employee Assistance Program Supportive team environment with strong work-life balance Schedule Part-time (36 hours per biweekly pay period) Nights and weekends After-hours/on-call responsibilities required Position Details Field-based role providing care in patient homes throughout Lenawee County and surrounding areas (35-mile service area) Travel required (mileage reimbursed) Must be able to depart from current location within 15 minutes of receiving a notification of patient need. If unable, contacts Supervisor on Call, as appropriate. What You'll Do Provide skilled, compassionate hospice nursing care in patient homes Manage pain and symptoms to ensure patient comfort Educate and support patients and families during end-of-life care Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members Perform hospice admissions as needed Communicate effectively with caregivers, spiritual advisors, and care teams Support Hospice Home staff when necessary Required Qualifications Active Michigan RN license Minimum 2 years of nursing experience CPR certification Valid driver's license, insured vehicle, and reliable transportation Ability to travel and respond promptly to patient needs Working cell phone Preferred Qualifications Hospice, home health, or oncology nursing experience Experience with end-of-life care BSN degree Why Join Hospice of Lenawee? 5-Star Rated by Medicare.gov Voted "Best Hospice" (4 consecutive years) Mission-driven, compassionate team culture Work that truly makes a difference Since 1982, Hospice of Lenawee has been providing exceptional care to patients and families in our community.
