Job Title:
Nurse Family Partnership Program Nurse Full Time:
37.5 hours per week
Annual Salary:

  • 68,154 GENERAL SUMMARY Under general supervision of a Nursing Manager provides comprehensive Community Health nursing services to women and their families enrolled in the Nurse-Family Partnership Program in accordance with required program goals, objectives and protocols.
Receives day to day supervision by the Nurse-Family Partnership Program Supervisor.
TYPICAL DUTIES
1. Assesses physical, emotional, social and environmental needs of women and their families as they relate to health and life course development. 2. Assists women and their families to establish realistic goals and measurable outcomes for promoting their health and life course development. 3. Provides counseling and instruction to assist women and their families in attaining targeted goals, in areas including prenatal and postpartum care, nutrition, parenting, well child care, family planning, and special health problems. 4. Evaluates women and families' progress toward targeted goals; revises plan of care as appropriate. 5. Develops a working relationship with women and their families that promote problem
  • solving competence.
6. Promotes involvement of other family members in pregnancy, birth and early childcare. 7. Links women and families with community resources which are relevant to their specific needs. 8. Consults and collaborates with other professionals involved in providing services to women and families in their caseload. 10. Records nursing activities in a timely manner and in accord with program protocols. 11. Assumes responsibility for ongoing learning in relation to program implementation 12. Performs related duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing and registration as a Nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan.
EXPERIENCE
None.
Note:
Applicants who do not possess a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, but who have a registration as a Nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan AND an accumulated total of two year's nursing experience may be considered for this position, although hire is dependent upon an approved variance granted from the Nurse-Family Partnership National Service Office. Preference will be given to applicants with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license and a vehicle. 2. Attend multiple training programs required by the Nurse-Family Partnership Program. 3. Strict adherence to the Nurse-Family Partnership Program protocols and reporting requirements. 4.
IN TIMES OF A PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY, MAY BE REQUIRED TO REPORT FOR SPECIALIZED ASSIGNED DUTIES INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF BERRIEN COUNTY. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Full-time experience with childbearing women and children in community health nursing. 2. Thorough knowledge of nursing theory and skills. 3. Reasonable knowledge of the scope of state and local public health programs. 4. Ability to establish interpersonal relationships with women and families from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. 5. Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include some evenings and weekends. 6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with consumers, co-workers, other professionals, community agencies and the general public. About the
