The pay rate advertised is for travelers 50 miles from Clinton Township, MI. The local pay ranges from $56
  • $60 per hour for 36 hours and $56
  • $65 per hour for 40 hours.
We are also open to negotiation for the right candidate. Maximum travel for 36 hours is $2520 and maximum travel pay for 40 hours is $2700 per week. Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) to join our dynamic surgical team. The RN CVOR plays a vital role in providing expert nursing care before, during, and after cardiovascular surgeries, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through meticulous attention to detail and adherence to best practices. This position offers an opportunity to work within a state-of-the-art facility, supporting complex cardiac procedures and contributing to innovative patient care initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to excellence in perioperative nursing. Responsibilities Prepare the operating room with appropriate sterile techniques and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available for cardiovascular procedures. Assist surgeons and surgical teams during complex cardiac surgeries, including catheterizations, valve repairs, bypass surgeries, and other advanced interventions. Monitor patient vital signs continuously, assess physiological responses, and respond promptly to any changes or complications. Administer medications, including anesthesia agents and vasoactive drugs, following strict protocols and physician orders. Maintain accurate medical documentation throughout the perioperative process, including surgical notes, medication administration records, and patient assessments. Implement infection control procedures rigorously to uphold hospital standards and prevent postoperative infections. Provide patient education regarding preoperative preparations and postoperative care instructions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as anesthesiology, cardiology, radiology, and critical care staff to ensure seamless patient management. Support emergency response efforts during trauma or acute cardiac events within the operating environment. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and institutional policies related to patient privacy and safety. Experience Proven clinical experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center with exposure to high-acuity cardiac surgeries. Demonstrated proficiency in OR procedures specific to cardiovascular surgery, including suturing techniques and sterile processing. Familiarity with advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation purposes. Experience with cardiac catheterization procedures, ICD coding (implantable cardioverter defibrillators), and ICD-10 coding standards. Critical care experience in ICU settings managing patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. Knowledge of pharmacology related to anesthesia, pain management, and IV infusion therapies. Working knowledge of laboratory testing relevant to cardiology patients such as laboratory experience involving blood gases or coagulation profiles. Competence in airway management techniques including ventilator support during intraoperative periods. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations involving anatomy knowledge pertinent to cardiovascular anatomy. Experience working with diverse patient populations across outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or home care settings.
