The RN collaborates with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, high-quality care throughout the childbirth process. Essential Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care during labor and delivery. Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using fetal monitoring equipment. Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products as prescribed. Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, inductions, and emergency obstetric procedures. Provide education and emotional support to patients and families throughout the birthing experience. Recognize and respond appropriately to obstetrical emergencies. Care for postpartum mothers and newborns in accordance with facility policies. Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record (EMR) documentation. Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, neonatal teams, and support staff. Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and infection prevention standards. Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current BLS certification. Current ACLS certification. Current NRP certification. Current Fetal Monitoring certification (Intermediate or Advanced preferred). Minimum 1-2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience. Preferred Qualifications Travel nursing experience. Experience in high-risk obstetrics. Experience circulating cesarean sections. Previous experience in Level II, III, or IV maternal care facilities. Skills & Competencies Labor assessment and management Electronic fetal monitoring interpretation Obstetrical emergency response Neonatal stabilization Patient and family education Critical thinking and clinical judgment Strong communication and teamwork skills Unit Details Labor & Delivery Antepartum Postpartum Nursery/Newborn Care Recovery Operating Room (C-Section Circulator experience preferred)
