Job Description

Overview Health Park Endoscopy is a high-quality ambulatory surgery center dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a safe, efficient, and compassionate environment. We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our perioperative team and provide outstanding care throughout the procedural experience. The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as an integral member of the perioperative team, providing professional nursing care before, during, and after the procedures. The RN Circulator coordinates patient care, maintains patient safety, supports physicians and anesthesia providers, and ensures compliance with all regulatory, safety, and infection prevention standards. Patient Care & Clinical Responsibilities Perform circulating nurse duties for outpatient surgical procedures. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout the perioperative process. Verify patient identity, procedure, and surgical site according to facility policy. Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and instruments for procedures. Assist anesthesia providers during induction and throughout procedures as needed. Monitor and maintain aseptic technique and infection prevention practices. Assist with patient positioning and preparation of the operative site. Provide emotional support, comfort, and education to patients and families. Accurately document patient care and communicate patient status to appropriate team members. Respond promptly to patient and physician needs. Teamwork & Communication Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers. Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment. Participate in staff meetings, committees, educational activities, and performance improvement initiatives. Assist with orientation and training of new employees. Quality, Compliance & Safety Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Support the organization's Compliance and Performance Improvement Programs. Participate in quality improvement and data collection activities. Follow all safety and risk management policies. Report safety concerns, hazards, and policy violations appropriately. Inventory & Resource Management Assist with inventory management of supplies, medications, and equipment. Utilize resources efficiently and support cost-containment efforts. Help maintain appropriate stock levels and equipment readiness. QualificationsRequired Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan. Current BLS/CPR certification. Current ACLS certification. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated leadership abilities and professional judgment. High ethical and professional standards. Preferred Previous Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience. Operating Room or procedural nursing experience. Computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, move, and position patients and equipment as required. Visual and auditory acuity necessary for patient assessment and safe clinical practice. Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations. Work Environment Fast-paced ambulatory surgery center environment. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials (Category I exposure). Requires strict adherence to infection prevention and safety protocols.
