Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract role supporting a student as a dedicated 1:1 nurse for the 2026-2027 school year. This unique opportunity allows you to provide critical care to a school-aged child who is vent and trach dependent. You'll play an essential role in their daily experience by delivering both medical expertise and emotional support from the moment their day begins until they return home. Ideal candidates are either Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), with pediatric experience strongly preferred. This position involves accompanying the student on the bus, so punctuality and reliability are essential. You'll arrive at the student's home by 8am to assist with the commute to school and stay until approximately 4pm for the return journey. What we're looking for: Current and valid RN or LPN license Prior experience caring for pediatric patients with vent and trach needs Confidence in making swift, informed decisions in a school setting Ability to provide compassionate, individualized care Experience with student transport and comfortable riding school buses Strong communication skills to coordinate with families, school staff, and medical providers In this role, your responsibilities will include: Delivering 1:1 medical care throughout the school day and during transit Monitoring and managing the student's ventilator and tracheostomy Responding promptly to any medical needs or emergencies Maintaining accurate and complete health documentation Supporting the student's overall well-being and comfort Collaborating closely with school personnel and the student's healthcare team If you're eager to make a profound difference in a student's life while utilizing your clinical expertise in a supportive, structured environment, this contract position offers a rewarding chance to do so.
