Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract An excellent opportunity awaits a dedicated and compassionate nurse to make a significant impact in the life of a student for the upcoming 26-27 school year. This contract role focuses on providing 1:1 care for a student who is ventilator and tracheostomy dependent. Whether you are a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), your expertise—especially if you have pediatric experience with vent and trach care—can truly make a difference. You will support the student both at home and at school, including riding the bus with them each day. The daily schedule consists of arriving at the student's home by 8:00am, accompanying them to school, and returning home around 4:00pm. You'll be responsible for ensuring continuous, skilled nursing care and a safe, supportive environment throughout the day.
Key Qualifications:
Active, unrestricted RN or LPN license Experience with pediatric ventilator and tracheostomy care strongly preferred Ability to provide 1:1 skilled nursing and emergency response as needed Comfortable with bus transportation and traveling with a student daily Excellent communication skills and a patient, nurturing approach
Role Responsibilities:
Attend to the student's medical needs at home, on the bus, and during the school day Monitor and manage the student's ventilator and tracheostomy care Maintain accurate documentation of care provided Collaborate with school staff and the student's family to support health and educational goals Respond promptly and effectively to any medical emergencies Take this rewarding opportunity to offer vital care and companionship throughout the school year while gaining valuable experience.
