Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. This vital role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures or diagnostic interventions. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of post-operative care, critical assessment skills, and the ability to manage complex patient needs in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise will ensure safe, effective recovery and optimal patient outcomes, supporting our commitment to high-quality healthcare delivery. Duties Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, airway patency, and neurological status during recovery from anesthesia. Manage acute pain and provide appropriate interventions to ensure patient comfort and safety. Administer medications, including IV infusions and analgesics, in accordance with physician orders and safety protocols. Maintain aseptic technique during procedures such as suturing or catheter care to prevent infections. Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans. Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Provide patient education regarding post-operative instructions, including wound care, activity restrictions, and medication management. Respond promptly to emergencies such as airway compromise or adverse reactions, utilizing advanced airway management skills. Support discharge planning by ensuring patients meet criteria for safe transfer to home or other care settings. Assist with triage assessments for incoming post-operative patients in outpatient or inpatient settings.

ACLS PALS 2
years of recent RN•PACU experience RN•MI License required

12 day shift and 36 hrs weekly HC1

$50.00 per hour
