Stepdown RN Petoskey, MI $2,240/week based on 36 hours/week 3x12 night shift 13 week contract to start Must haves: 1-2 years of Stepdown RN experience, previous hospital experience, MI RN License, BLS, ACLS CORE Staffing offers Loyalty Bonuses, Health Insurance, 401K to all our contracted clinicians Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Travel Step-Down Registered Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive or acute care settings to less intensive environments, ensuring seamless recovery and optimal health outcomes. Your expertise will support patients with complex medical needs, including those requiring cardiac, neurological, or trauma-related care, in a travel capacity that offers diverse clinical experiences. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and long-term care facilities, while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive patient assessments to determine ongoing care needs and develop individualized treatment plans. Administer medications and treatments with precision, including IV infusions, medication administration, and aseptic techniques. Monitor vital signs, perform physical examinations, and evaluate patient responses to therapies across multiple clinical environments. Manage complex medical procedures such as catheterizations, suturing, tube feeding, ventilator management, and wound care. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning, case management, and follow-up care for patients with diverse conditions including geriatrics, behavioral health, and trauma medicine. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient care activities and medical records. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards while maintaining high-quality patient care. Qualifications Valid RN license in the state of practice with current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. Critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers is highly preferred. Proven experience working with complex patient populations such as those requiring dialysis, hospice & palliative medicine, or long-term care. Familiarity with advanced clinical procedures including cardiac catheterization, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and laboratory specimen collection/processing. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology to support accurate patient assessment and treatment planning. Experience working within EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner to ensure precise documentation. Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt quickly across various healthcare settings such as emergency medicine, outpatient clinics, or home & community care environments.
