Operating Room Circulating Nurse - Part time

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced operating room circulating nurse - Part time (T/W/T) to join Barclay Surgery Center (ASC). The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of circulating/surgical patient care, including managing acute pain, wound care, and monitoring vital signs. Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are sterile and ready. Assist the surgical team by providing necessary tools and materials during the procedure. Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow and patient safety. Document all relevant information and events during the surgical procedure for accurate records. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures in the operating room. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, providing critical support in patient prepping and recovery and ensuring optimal outcomes. Candidates with experience in various specialties such as surgical units, ICU, emergency medicine, or outpatient surgical centers are encouraged to apply. This position will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, evidence-based care while adhering to HIPAA and infection control standards. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments pre and post-surgery, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations; PAT calls. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and sedation as required. Monitor patients for signs of complications such as infection, bleeding, or respiratory issues; implement appropriate interventions. Manage airway and ventilator support for critical care patients when necessary. Perform wound care procedures including suturing, dressing changes, and ostomy care following aseptic techniques. Document all patient interactions and medical procedures accurately within the patients chart/post op follow up calls. Provide education on pain management, medication administration, nutrition, mobility, and recovery protocols to patients and their families. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to prevent healthcare-associated infections. Qualifications Valid nursing license with current registration;

BLS/ACLS

certification required. Proven experience in pre and post-operative settings such as surgical units, ICU (including PICU), emergency rooms, or outpatient surgery centers. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Experience administering injections, IV insertion/infusion therapy, tube feeding management, and aseptic techniques. Strong assessment skills with the ability to recognize acute pain issues and respond effectively. Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining compassionate patient care standards. Knowledge of infection control practices and working with diverse patient populations.

Pay:

$38.00 - $42.00 per hour
