N/A Minimum Qualifications Master's of Counseling program or Masters of Education in Higher Education Leadership program or related field/program. Excellent organizational and analytical skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Desired Qualifications One year of experience in academic counseling or advising. Knowledge of admission and registration practices. Position Purpose Provide proactive, student-centered academic advising to pre-nursing and current students supporting their academic, personal, and professional development. The part-time Academic Adviser will manage a caseload of students and will have a role in retention initiatives at the the department and university-wide level. Job Duties Develop academic plans and course selection with pre-nursing students and current students. Interpret transfer credits and evaluate prerequisite completion. Provide guidance on nursing admission requirements, degree requirements and academic policies. Maintain and update student records in DegreeWorks, Argos, TracCloud, BANNER and BDM. Participate in recruitment events to promote the nursing program to prospective students. Assist with first year, transfer and nursing specific orientations.
