Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting a student as a dedicated 1:1 nurse for the 2026-2027 school year! This rewarding contract opportunity focuses on providing essential care to a child who is ventilator and tracheostomy dependent, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the school day. You'll start your mornings accompanying the student from their home for the ride to school, and end the day by riding back in the afternoon—establishing a consistent, caring presence. This is an excellent role for nurses who thrive in pediatric settings, prioritize patient-centered care, and are ready to advocate for their student's needs both in class and on the move.
Desired Qualifications:
Active RN or LPN licensure (unrestricted). Prior experience with pediatric patients, especially those who are ventilator and trach dependent, is highly valued. Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate closely with educators, therapists, and families. Ability to maintain detailed records and respond efficiently to health concerns in a school setting. Reliable and punctual, prepared for an 8am-4pm schedule. Comfortable with bus riding and eager to form a consistent relationship with your student.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care for one student throughout the school day and transit. Monitor health status, administer medications, and manage ventilator and trach needs. Collaborate with school personnel to adapt care as needed. Provide emergency response and emotional support as appropriate.
