Job Description

Overview The EMR Registered Nurse Application Analyst understands system build and functionality, ability to analyze and understand business workflows and the knowledge to make solution recommendations that meet organizational goals . The primary responsibilities of an Epic Registered Nurse Application Analyst are to collaborate with end users of the system to evaluate, design, build, test, train, implement within Epic and other third-party solutions. This individual will utilize their clinical nursing knowledge to meet current nursing evidence-based practices within the system. Demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation. Responsibilities Demonstrates functional knowledge of Epic, applicable third-party solutions, and Microsoft suite of products. Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with customers; meets with customers to capture business & technical requirement needs. Demonstrates knowledge of processes within the business lines supported, assesses workflow methods, identifies gaps, determines necessary workflow changes, and develops workflows alongside customers related to the implementation of new solutions or functionality. Designs, builds, and configures within assigned Epic system modules and any supporting third-party solutions; develops and maintains process documentation using appropriate tools. Develops and maintains test scripts for workflow testing; performs testing per department requirements. Ensures that application changes and upgrades are working properly. Follows departmental standards for change control and quality assurance; provides documentation on system changes and provides training, if applicable. Troubleshoots issues and initiates escalation procedures with minimal supervision and provides proposals for resolution of the issues found. Participates in or leads cross-functional projects; Understands project planning and coordination methods using project management tools and skills. Communicates project status of deliverables, barriers (as applicable), end-user concerns, and upcoming milestones. Actively participates in meetings, as needed. Provides status updates on work to leadership. May be expected to rotate on-call with other team members to provide 24x7 emergency support for the department and may be expected to provide remote support, if needed. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
� Associate�s degree required. Bachelor�s degree preferred. Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse license. � Three (3) years� clinical nursing experience required. Specific experience in the operational area for Epic application preferred. � Must become and maintain Vendor certification in specified application within 6 months of attending first Vendor course.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
� Must have a strong working knowledge of nursing evidence-based practices, departmental policies, procedures, business operations and clinical workflows with an understanding of how they interrelate to other departments in the organization. � Previous experience in area of application preferred. � Strong computing skills, working knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, web browsing, issue tracking and email applications and/or a willingness to learn. � Strong project management skills with ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, and maintain issues lists. � Must demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic attitude. � Must be a team player with the ability to work independently as well as in small or large teams. � Demonstrates the ability to resolve problems timely and effectively. � Must be detail oriented and have skills for probing information to fully understand the underlying needs drive how the system should be built. � Must be approachable and can deal positively with employees at all levels of the organization. � Protects and maintains the confidential nature of information. � Ability to consistently meet assigned deadlines for projects. � Demonstrated effective follow-up activities. � Sound decision making ability. � Ability to multitask. � Ability to accept and adapt to change. � May be asked to mentor/coach new IT employees.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
� Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. � Frequent standing, walking, sitting, use of hands/fingers, talking and hearing. � Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping/kneel, squat, crawl, twist, reach. � Occasional lifting over 10 pounds.
