Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing! In this vital role, you will deliver expert patient care, monitor complex medical conditions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between acute care and recovery, providing compassionate support to patients during critical moments. Duties Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and complex health conditions, including those requiring cardiac monitoring, ventilator support, or post-surgical recovery Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform treatment plans Administer medications and injections accurately following HIPAA guidelines and aseptic techniques Monitor cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment, respond swiftly to arrhythmias or emergencies, and manage airway or ventilator needs as required Collaborate with physicians and specialists in areas such as cardiology, ophthalmology, infectious disease care, or trauma medicine to coordinate patient treatment plans Document all patient interactions thoroughly in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Cerner or Epic, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, or imaging procedures like sonography and mammography when needed Skills Proven experience in critical care settings such as ICU, trauma centers (Level I or II), or emergency rooms with a strong understanding of acute pain management and trauma medicine protocols Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Cerner and Athenahealth for accurate documentation and order entry Skilled in advanced nursing procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization (urinary or vascular), suturing, ostomy care, and sterile processing techniques Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and diagnostic evaluation methods Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs Familiarity with specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy for ophthalmology or esthetic laser treatments is a plus Strong understanding of infection control practices and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and safety Join us in delivering exceptional nursing care that transforms lives!
