Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful role supporting the educational journey of a student who requires dedicated, compassionate care. A contract nursing opportunity is available for the 2026-2027 school year, providing 1:1 support for a student with vent and trach dependencies. This hands-on assignment involves accompanying the student on the school bus each day and ensuring safety, comfort, and well-being both during transport and throughout the school day. Preferred candidates will blend strong clinical abilities with a nurturing approach. Ideal applicants have pediatric experience with ventilator and tracheostomy management, and are comfortable working with students in both school and home environments.
Desired Qualifications:
Active RN or LPN license in good standing Prior experience working with pediatric patients requiring vent and trach care Familiarity with school nursing protocols and individualized care plans Strong communication skills for collaboration with families, educators, and healthcare teams Ability to handle bus transport responsibilities and adapt to dynamic, child-centered schedules Dependability, compassion, and the ability to work autonomously
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 nursing care for a student during the school year, including ventilator and tracheostomy management Arrive at the student's residence by 8:00 a.m. to ride the bus to school; accompany student home after the school day concludes (approximate return at 4:00 p.m.) Closely monitor the student's health throughout the day and respond to medical needs promptly Maintain clear, thorough documentation and report changes or concerns to the appropriate school and healthcare personnel Foster a safe, supportive learning environment by integrating care with educational activities Your care and expertise will enable a student to thrive academically and personally in a school setting.
