Pre-Operative / PACU Registered Nurse Pioneer Medical Associates PC Sterling Heights, MI Job Details Part-time $40 - $43 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Teamwork Vital signs RN License BLS Certification ACLS Certification Organizational skills Full Job Description Pre-Op / Post-Op Registered Nurse (RN) Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Pre-Op/Post-Op Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing Ambulatory Surgery Center team. The RN will provide exceptional patient care throughout the perioperative experience, including preoperative assessment, preparation, recovery, discharge education, and coordination of care. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment and is committed to delivering safe, high-quality patient outcomes. Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Operative Duties Conduct comprehensive preoperative patient assessments. Review medical histories, medications, allergies, and laboratory results. Verify informed consent and surgical documentation. Initiate IV access and administer medications as ordered. Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and recovery expectations. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure patient readiness for surgery. Post-Anesthesia Care (PACU) Duties Monitor patients during immediate postoperative recovery. Assess and document vital signs, pain levels, and patient status. Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition. Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders. Provide discharge instructions and patient/family education. Ensure patients meet discharge criteria prior to release. General Responsibilities Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Adhere to ASC policies, infection prevention standards, and regulatory requirements. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs. Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards. Support a positive, team-oriented work environment. Other tasks as needed to support the ASC team. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BLS certification required. ACLS certification required or obtained within designated timeframe. Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred. Previous experience in Pre-Op, PACU, Surgery, Critical Care, Emergency Department, or Ambulatory Surgery Center preferred. Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Qualifications Experience with electronic medical records (EMR). Familiarity with outpatient surgical procedures and anesthesia recovery.
