Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract This opportunity calls for experienced registered nurses skilled in stepdown care, particularly in general medical and oncology settings. The role requires hands-on expertise in administering chemotherapy via IV and starting IVs, along with proficiency in equipment such as Welch Allyn Vital Sign towers, Sigma IV pumps, and EPIC documentation systems. Location Situated in Three Rivers, MI, this position offers the chance to work in a supportive stepdown unit dedicated to quality patient care. Qualifications & Desired Experience Current Michigan RN License BLS Certification (AHA) ONCC or ONS certification (required and must be in hand) Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown nursing experience Skilled in chemotherapy administration and IV insertion Familiarity with EPIC documentation and medical equipment used in stepdown units Responsibilities Provide compassionate care to general medical and oncology stepdown patients Administer chemotherapy treatments safely and accurately Monitor patient vitals using Welch Allyn towers and operate Sigma IV pumps Collaborate with support staff and medical teams to maintain optimal nurse-to-patient ratios (typically 1:4-6) Float to other med-surg areas including acute units and ER as needed Utilize block scheduling options and engage in self-scheduling for flexibility Work every other weekend and fulfill a 3x12-hour day shift schedule (07:00-19:30) Additional Details This is a contract position requiring availability for the first two weeks and adherence to scheduling discussions for any time-off requests post-hire. Staffing supports and reduced assignment ratios are provided during chemotherapy admissions to ensure quality care.
