1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum) night shift travel assignment at a Critical Access Hospital in Minnesota, requiring L&D and Med/Surg/Peds experience along with active BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications. Details Acute care setting in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) LDRP unit with 4 L&D beds, 6 postpartum beds, and 1 triage bed Patient population includes labor and delivery, postpartum, hyperbilirubinemia, preterm labor, and OB triage C-sections are performed in the OR Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 during induction, 1:2 for postpartum RNs are required to titrate drips including Pitocin, cardiac drips, Heparin, and sedation medications RNs monitor telemetry using Philips monitors and are required to read their own strips (with ICU and charge nurse support available for complex strips) EFM system in use is GE RT is on call 24/7; respiratory equipment available includes vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and Airvo OB/neonatologist and anesthesia are on-call (not in-house 24/7) Charge nurse present on each shift; typically does not take a patient assignment 1 nurse aide available from 6:00 AM - 6:30
PM EMR:
Epic 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Every third weekend required Every third holiday required Floating to Med/Surg/Peds required when OB census is low On-call requirement with a 1-hour response time 13-week assignment Requirements Active MN RN license (State or Compact/NLC) required; pending licenses will not be accepted Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required; pending certifications will not be accepted Minimum 1 year of RN experience required L&D experience required Med/Surg and/or Pediatrics experience required Critical Access Hospital experience preferred Epic EMR experience preferred Driver's license required for consideration (used to verify permanent address) 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Candidate must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate Additional Information Provides care across the full LDRP spectrum including labor support, delivery, postpartum, neonatal care, and triage Nurses float to Med/Surg/Peds when OB census is low Unit orientation consists of 1 twelve-hour shift No dress code; any scrub color is acceptable Scheduling is managed by the unit scheduler (no self-scheduling) Candidates who have been directly employed full time, part time, or PRN by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible (candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered) Any requested time off must be disclosed upfront; additional RTO will not be approved after the hiring process begins First-time travelers will be considered for this position Successful candidates on this unit are noted for strong communication, motivation, and approachability
