Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Per Diem Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients across various medical-surgical units, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through comprehensive assessment, intervention, and education. This position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate your availability while supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in acute care settings, with proficiency in EMR systems and a broad skill set encompassing diverse clinical procedures. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner and Epic. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and botulinum toxin treatments when applicable. Monitor patients' conditions closely, managing acute pain and responding promptly to emergent situations in compliance with hospital protocols. Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization, tube feeding management, and sterile dressing changes following aseptic techniques. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patient needs and clinical standards. Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of results. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medication administration, discharge instructions, and health promotion strategies. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation for legal and billing purposes. Support triage activities in urgent care or emergency room settings by prioritizing patient needs based on acuity levels. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in trauma medicine, infectious disease care, geriatrics, and other relevant specialties.
MUST HAVE
2 yrs Medical Surgical Experience 2 Yrs Acute Care RN Experience in a Hospital Setting Previous Travel or Per Diem Experience BLS (AHA) Active Minnesota License Required to pick up at least 1 shift/month
