TBD Seeking a Hematology/Oncology locum tenens physician to provide inpatient and outpatient clinical coverage in Minneapolis, MN. Start ASAP for an ongoing assignment with weekday clinical shifts (Mon-Fri, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) and weekly home-call rotation (Mon 8:00 a.m.-Mon 8:00 a.m., overnight calls taken from home). Coverage includes beeper/home-call responsibilities.
Clinical scope:
Adult and geriatric patients with a mixed caseload of malignant and benign oncology and hematology consults. Typical daily volume is 20-40 patients with admissions, rounding, and phone consults expected. Required services include medical oncology management, hematology consults, and comprehensive inpatient oncology care.
Facility and support:
Large hospital (590 beds, Level III-IV trauma) using Epic. Standard oncology equipment and multidisciplinary specialty backup available (hospitalists and oncology team). APP support provided (1 on weekdays, 1 on weekends). Privileges, credentialing, and compliance: Hospital privileges required at multiple sites; temporary privileges TBD. Credentialing approximates 90 days.
Requirements:
Active MN medical license or IMLC eligibility, Hematology/Oncology board certification, DEA, BLS or ACLS, and a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience. Epic experience required. Compensation & benefits: Rate TBD. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the inpatient medical oncology team, manage oncology and hematology patients, supervise APPs and support staff, provide consultative and inpatient coverage, and participate in the weekly call rotation.
