Job Description

SUMMARY We are currently seeking a part-time Staff Nurse RN (0.9
FTE:
4-5 days/week, 8 hour shifts) for our Cancer Center in downtown Minneapolis to work day shift.
  • This position is currently Monday-Friday day hours but may expand to include evenings and weekends as we grow.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Relationship-Based Care practice model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by:
  • Protecting, promoting wellness and optimizing health
  • Triaging patients by assessing severity of symptoms and referral to appropriate setting or level of care
  • Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response
  • Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others
  • Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care
  • Educating patient on their disease process
  • Assuring continuity of care
  • Educating patient and family in preventative care which promotes health and well being
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota
  • One year of current oncology professional nursing (RN) experience
  • OCN certified or able to obtain certification within 2 years of hire date
  • Chemo administrative experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in area of clinical specialty
  • Chemo/Biotherapy course
  • Inpatient Oncology experience
  • BSN Preferred.
Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
