1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down/SCU Charge RN position at a Critical Access, Level 4 trauma facility in Minnesota, requiring at least 2 years of experience and charge nurse experience. Details Step-Down/SCU (Special Care Unit) within a Critical Access, Level 4 trauma center with 19 staffed beds Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Every third weekend required No on-call requirements Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed Special procedures include central line insertion, cardioversion, arterial line insertion, and chest tube insertion Special equipment includes NICOM, Nihon Kohden monitors, Heated High Flow (Airvo), BiPAP (V60), and ventilator (PB980) Charting via Epic (Excellian); experience required 13-week contract with a 4x12 night shift structure Requirements Active MN RN license required; pending license accepted Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP Minimum 2 years of Step-Down/SCU nursing experience required Charge nurse experience required Epic (Excellian) EMR experience required At least 1 supervisor reference required for consideration Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible Additional Information Serves as charge RN in the Step-Down/SCU, overseeing unit operations and patient care coordination during night shifts Pre-start modules are required to be completed before the first day of the assignment Candidates who have previously worked at the facility as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift worked Navy blue scrubs required Free parking available in any unrestricted space RTO requests ideally limited to no more than 5 days for the duration of the contract First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
