1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU/ED Float RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract at a Level 3 trauma acute care hospital in Minnesota, requiring a MN RN license and at least 1 year of ICU experience. Details SCU/ED Float position with floating required to other units, specifically the Emergency Department, as needed to meet facility needs Level 3 trauma, 63-bed acute care hospital ICU unit with an average daily census of 5, with 8 rooms and 10 beds
Schedule:
3x12-hour night shifts (1900-0730) Up to every other weekend required On-call may be required as needed for the department Block scheduling is not available, though the scheduler will make reasonable accommodations
Charting:
Epic (Excellian) Navy scrubs required Free parking available in any unrestricted space Requirements Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted) Minimum 1 year of ICU/specialty experience required Required certifications: BLS and ACLS; CCRN preferred Cardiac monitoring skills required: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG acquisition, multi-system organ failure management Required clinical experience: thermoregulation (hypothermia/hyperthermia), IV insulin protocol, GI surgery, and chronic/acute renal failure Required IV therapy skills: port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, and IV insertion Required medication management skills: continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, procedural sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips Required neurological case experience: CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury Required respiratory/thoracic skills: BiPAP and CPAP management, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, ventilated patient care, HFNC, ABG interpretation, ETT/NT suctioning, and ventilator management Additional required skills: infection/isolation precautions and PPE use, phlebotomy, and surgical wound/wound vac care At least 1 supervisor reference required for consideration Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible Additional Information Candidates who have previously worked at the facility as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift to be eligible Pre-employment modules are required to be completed before the start of the assignment RTO of no more than 5 days is preferred First-time travelers are welcome to apply Floating may include travel to nearby affiliate hospitals in addition to floating within the facility
