Full Time Supervisory Duties :
Insures that all the needs are met for the clients as well as leads, supervises, directs staff that is on the shift at the Assisted Living Facility.
Minimum Qualifications :
Must be a graduate with an accredited RN license. Must be registered and licensed with the State of Minnesota as a RN, and must maintain a current and unrestricted licensure. He/she must be computer literate with a working knowledge of basic programs such as (Word and Excel).
Position Overview:
Our facility is seeking a RN that is energetic and enthusiastic about senior living to assist in vacation coverage for the DON/Administrator. The primary role is to oversee the general operations of the facility and the nursing duties to ensure compliance with state regulation. The coverage will include on call hours during the vacation coverage time. General Requirements:
The Assisted Living facility is seeking RN's to provide assistance with the activities of daily living to the residents. The RN must be compassionate, respectful, patient, and possess a sincere desire to enhance the quality of life for the people whom he/she serve and their families. Employee must be capable of exercising good judgment and ensure that the facility will provide a safe, comfortable and secure living environment for the residents. Employee must be able to read and write English at an average adult level. Employee must be respectful and considerate and able to communicate in English clearly in person and over the phone. Employee must be able to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs of weight without risk of injury. Because the facility performs service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, staff will be required to work the shifts/ schedules for which they are hired. Employee must be willing to work part -time or full time, and during half of the holidays recognized. Employee must be willing to undergo on the job training before being certified to work with residents including background check. Employee must pass background check prior to providing cares. Employee must be flexible and willing to adapt to changing situations in a professional manner. We require staff to have a happy nature and a positive attitude. RN's are required to give a 3 week notice if resigning from the position. The employee must be neat, clean, and adhere to the tobacco free policy.

Specific Requirements:
The Registered Nurse agrees to fulfill all of the nursing requirements for facility licensure for medication administration listed below; Resident assessments prior to or on the day of admission and every 90 days, thereafter, unless a condition warrants sooner. Assures clients continue to live safely in their unit, reassess and recommend alternative placement if necessary. Communicates the services to be provided for each client to staff responsible for delivering the services, and assures follow through. Inform personnel of changes in client's needs and conditions. Maintains communication with clients, their families and staff. Facilitates coordination of client services with other service providers as needed. Is available for on-call medical questions and/or emergencies via phone. Prepare review, update and sign Resident Service Plans in conjunction with the conduct or review of assessments. The initial Service Plan to be completed with in two weeks after the admittance of the client. Only the RN can do a Service Plan. This task may not be delegated to an LPN, or caregiver. If required by the DON/Administrator, the RN may be required during an admittance of a client to complete the Nursing data base, Vulnerability assessment, the medication assessment, the nutritional assessment, and the care plan. Update and post medication changes and physician orders as required by the DON/Administrator. Conduct a periodic review of medication administration records and do remedial training/counseling for UAP medication errors when appropriate. Is responsible for investigating and reporting incidents of suspected client neglect and/or abuse and reporting these findings to DON/Administrator and/or appropriate county officials. Coordinates staff education to include at least 8 hours of in-services per year. Provides health and medication training to all new employees as well as continued education for all staff and documents such training to assure compliance with state, federal and local regulations. Conduct in-service training as requested by the DON/Administrator. Assures that staff clearly understands and follow all Home Care procedures. Meets with staff as needed. Monitors staff for compliance of monthly client treatments as scheduled. Supervises medication practices and medical equipment being used by home care clients. Assures that medication administration procedures are followed properly and discusses any needed corrections, errors, etc., with staff. Assures new medication sheets are in place by the first of each month. Reviews each client's medication sheet at least monthly and assures accuracy and appropriate signatures. Monitors and follows thru with ordering medications and all medication renewals as well as any necessary follow-up with physicians regarding medications and/or medical conditions. Destroy/dispose of medications and document in accordance with regulation requirements and policy. Assures all physicians orders are signed and implemented with-in 24 hours. Travel to meetings, training or conventions s required and coordinated in advance with Management. Stay abreast of changes to Minnesota state regulations pertaining to assisted living centers. Immediately notify the DON/Administrator and Operations Officer via email/ mail of any change that may affect procedures. Assures compliance with regulations and is available for federal and state licensure surveys. Review and make recommendations for policies and Procedures to ensure compliance with state regulations, the standard for medication administration, and the nurse's standard for licensure protection. Provide other services as may be required by the DON/Administrator Management. Communicates in staff communication book any information that staff needs to be aware of. Maintain client files and appropriate documents as required. Administer immunizations to staff and residents as required. The RN is to be dressed in nurse attire (scrubs). The RN may not smoke in the facility nor may the odor of smoke be prevalent in his/her clothing. The RN must maintain the required immunization record, and professional liability/malpractice insurance. Up to date copies of these documents must be provided and maintained by the DON/Administrator and Management. Unlicensed Assistant Personnel (UAP) Training All UAP staff performs mediation administration duties under the nurse's license and therefore must be trained to his/her satisfaction. Supervises, orientates and competency tests unlicensed staff to home care and to each client's individual needs. may develop its own UAP Course and once approved, may require the RN to train new staff IAW its requirements. Confidentiality All information pertaining to residents, staff, and procedures (both oral and written) is confidential. It may not be shared with anyone outside of the Minnesota Departments of Health or Social Services, a resident's medical practitioners, or Inc. without written permission form the President, Operations Officer or Management. Violation of these federal and state policies will result in immediate termination of employment.
