Job Description

Find your calling at Mercy! Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patients highest level of wellness. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team; recognizes the importance of group goals. Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient.

Minimum Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or GED Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program Completion of Fundamentals of Nursing (verified by transcript) Submission of school-provided competency skills checklist Must remain in good standing with nursing program (position ends if student leaves program)
Certification:
🩹 BLS required within one month of hire πŸ’ͺ Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs Prolonged standing and walking Ability to bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach, and grip throughout shift 🌟 Preferred Qualifications Prior patient care experience (EMT, Paramedic, etc.)
Certifications:
CNA, CPCT, EMT, AUA
(state-specific) βœ… Primary Responsibilities 🀝 Patient Care & Clinical Support Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs): hygiene, ambulation, turning/repositioning, feeding assistance, and skin care Observe patients for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to licensed staff Support admissions, transfers, and discharges (including patient belongings) Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection as approved by unit and competency (e.g., glucose monitoring) Demonstrate sound clinical judgment, time management, and flexibility with assignments πŸ–₯️ Documentation & Administrative Support Accurately gather and document patient data (e.g., vital signs) in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Prepare charts for admissions, discharges, and transfers Perform clerical duties as needed, including answering phones and monitoring call lights Ensure accurate charge reconciliation and documentation πŸ“‹ Compliance & Professional Practice Maintain required certifications and complete assigned eLearning modules Accept delegated tasks within scope of practice Adhere to Mercy policies, unit standards, and professional conduct expectations Why Mercy?
