Located in Marshfield, MO, we are licensed for 90 beds and accept a variety of insurance plans including Medicare and Medicaid, as well as private pay options. Job Summary The Infection Preventionist (IP) is responsible for the development, direction, implementation, management and operation of the infection prevention in the facility. Infection Preventionist will work to identify, investigate, monitor, and report healthcare-associated infections and communicable diseases. The IP collaborates with teams and individuals to create, educate, and sustain infection prevention strategies, as well as provide feedback. IP conducts ongoing staff development, training and quality assurance performance improvement monitoring to ensure adherence with organizational standards, professional guidelines, state, and federal regulations. The infection preventionist reports to the DON/Administrator. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control programs tailored to the SNF/LTC environment. Conduct ongoing surveillance of residents' health status, observing for signs of infection or disease transmission. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate infection tracking and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate staff on proper aseptic techniques, OSHA standards, microbiology principles, and infectious disease care protocols. Collect data related to infection rates, analyze trends, and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies. Lead investigations of infection outbreaks or incidents, coordinating with healthcare teams to contain and prevent further spread. Maintain current knowledge of epidemiology, anatomy, physiology, and public health guidelines relevant to infection control. Skills Education and Experience
- Degree in nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, medical technology, public health or other healthcare science
- Have primary professional training in nursing, medical technology, microbiology, epidemiology or another related field
- Active IP certification required
- Prior work as IP preferred Additional Eligibility Qualifications

- Proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills.
- Ability to implement evidence-based guidelines
- Proficiency in the nursing process.
- Knowledge in and ability to conduct data collection and analysis, report writing, and data presentation
