Job Description
Job Summary Provide quality and efficient healthcare services to the patients of Ranken Jordan in collaboration with and supervision by the Director of Medical Team Services, Medical Director, Medical Team including APNs and physicians. •Expected to work 10hr Days every 4th weekend rotation (Sat/Sun) minimum. Weekdays as needed.

No Key Responsibilities 1 Maintains ability to perform the role of the Staff RN, meeting all performance criteria in established job category. 2 The APN collaborates with the Staff Physicians to provide medical care to patients of medical complexity of Ranken Jordan 3 The scope of practice of the APN shall consist of the following services and procedures, which are consistent with their level of skill, education, training, and competence as set forth in Collaborative Practice Agreement withStaff Physicians:
Take patient histories, perform physical examinations, perform assessments and treatment for acutely or chronically ill or injured patients and document this information in the medical record. Formulate appropriate differential diagnoses based on history, physical examination, and clinical findings. Order, conduct, and interpret, with physician's input, appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests consistent with the patient's presentation. In the case of abnormal test results, the PNP shall consult with Staff Physician within appropriate timeframes. Identify, implement, and evaluate appropriate plan of care, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. Administer and prescribe prescription drugs (excluding the prescription of controlled substances) to patients consistent with the PNP's education, training, competence, and scope of practice. Perform appropriate diagnostic and clinical procedures within the PNP's advanced clinical nursing specialty area and consistent with the PNP's skill, training, education and competence. Conduct preventive screening procedures based on age and history Provide relevant patient/family education and counseling regarding healthy lifestyle behaviors. Education and counseling may include issues of diet, disease, treatment, discharge instructions, compliance with instructions and follow-up. Consult with Staff Physician, or his/her regarding treatment or referral of patients to appropriate specialist and/or hospital facility. Knows and complies with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and hospital policies and rules that are in compliance with federal and state laws. Completes medical record documentation and other records for all patients under his/her care according to hospital policy. 4 Maintains personal and professional development through both formal and informal means: Participates in and presents at seminars and educational programs. Initiates, promotes, and participates in nursing studies and research. Keeps current on issues, practice and new trends related to health care, specifically long-term care, pediatric care and health care administration. Satisfies the continuing education requirements established by the Medical Staff and licensure requirements.Patient Population Served:
Ranken Jordan is dedicated to delivering services to patients with complex medical needs, including infants, children, and adolescents.Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Includes active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Missouri Graduate Degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) Includes Certification by Missouri State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse Nurse Practitioner Certification in either Pediatric or Family certification programs. Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association Current Pediatric Acute Life Support certification from the American Heart Association 2-3 years as a nurse practitioner required Hospitalist, ICU or Complex Care experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Advanced knowledge of pediatric acute and chronic conditions, including care of children with medical complexity and technology dependence. Ex. Managing ventilator settings, tracheostomies, central lines, ostomies, wound vacs, post craniectomies, etc. Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and decision-making skills in the inpatient pediatric setting. Ability to manage acute illness, chronic disease exacerbations, and post-procedural care. Effective communication and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary care team. Skill in delivering family-centered care and clearly communicating complex medical information. Experience with care coordination, discharge planning, and transitions of care. Proficiency in EMR documentation and clinical workflows. Ability to manage multiple patients, prioritize care, and adapt to changing clinical situations including emergency situations.
