Hospice On Call RN

Three Rivers Hospice office in Mount Vernon is seeking an On-Call Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated hospice team. This On-Call RN will need to have a high degree of compassion and able to provide emotional comfort for after-hour care to our terminally ill patients and their families in their homes, nursing facilities and assisted living centers. The On-Call RN provides comprehensive nursing assessments and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team. This position is a critical link for support, handling urgent needs, managing symptoms and providing emotional support when our regular care team are not on duty.

Qualifications:

Active license in Missouri Minimum of 1-2 years clinic nursing Strong problem-solving skills Reliable transportation, Valid driver's license and Current auto insurance .

What You'll Do:

Serve as the first point of contact for urgent patient and family needs after regular business hours. Provide expert symptom management, pain control, and emotional reassurance in the home or facility setting. Assess patient conditions, make critical care decisions, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary hospice team for follow-up care. Offer compassionate guidance to families, helping them navigate difficult moments with clarity and comfort. Document all visits, calls, and interventions promptly and accurately in accordance with hospice standards. Maintain readiness to travel to patient locations within the service area, ensuring timely response to calls.
