Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team. Essential Functions Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs. Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards. Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence. Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development. Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program. Performs other duties as assigned. Management of patients with Cardiovascular interventions, post Open Heart surgery, heart failure, Target Temperature management, donation afar cardiac death, brain death, general surgical interventions, hypertensive crisis, cardiac arrest, myocardial infarctions, aortic dissection, and aortic aneurysm. Management of general medical ICU patients such as sepsis, renal failure, shock, respiratory failure, pulmonary hypertension, overdose, gastrointestinal hemorrhage and endocrine dysfunction. Mange equipment such as Intra aortic ballon pumps, CRRTs, Impellas, epicardial transcutaneous and transvenous pacemakers, Swan-Ganz catheters, and internal and external defibrillator. Qualifications Education Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required Experience Minimum of six months critical care/ICU experience in an acute care facility within the last five years required, or (For RN Residents) successful completion of an approved critical care training course/orientation and standard competencies within six months of hire. Minimum of one year RN experience in an Intensive Care unit specializing in Cardiac, Surgical and Medical preferred. Credentials Required:
State of Oregon nursing license Required Upon Hire:
Basic Life Support ACLS and NIHSS required within 6 months Department / Location Specific Notes Critical Care - ICU, ICU Medical, ICU Surgical, Neuro ICU, CVICU
& Patient Care Support (Rapid Response Team): Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months. National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) required within 6 months.
