Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse specializing in General Surgery and Dental Surgery, where your expertise will directly impact patient recovery and well-being. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes. Your energetic approach and dedication will help foster a positive environment for patients and staff alike. We are committed to supporting your professional growth with ongoing education and state-of-the-art resources. Responsibilities Deliver expert nursing care to patients undergoing general surgical procedures, including preoperative assessments and postoperative monitoring. Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, following strict aseptic techniques and hospital protocols. Assist in surgical procedures within the operating room (OR), ensuring sterile environments and proper instrument handling. Monitor vital signs, assess patient conditions, and respond promptly to changes in patient status or emergent situations such as acute pain or airway compromise. Educate patients and their families on postoperative care, discharge instructions, and recovery processes to promote healing at home or in long-term care settings. Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, adhering to HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, anesthesiologists, physical therapists, and case managers to coordinate seamless patient care. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and must possess a valid nursing license with current registration. Previous experience in a surgical or acute care setting preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems, preferrably CPSI. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to general surgery. Skills in IV insertion, catheterization, and aseptic technique essential for perioperative care. Critical care experience is a plus; familiarity with trauma medicine and infectious disease care is beneficial. Ability to perform physical examinations, vital signs assessment, and patient assessments confidently. Strong communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and practicing infection control standards diligently. Join us to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through compassionate nursing care! We value energetic professionals eager to grow their skills across diverse clinical settings — from outpatient clinics to inpatient units — all while advancing your career in a supportive environment that prioritizes excellence in patient-centered care.
