Job Description

Responsible for the patient care in the Wound Care Center. This includes, but is not limited to, utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care through the use of hospital and nursing standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provides case management to a group of patients providing specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management, and acts as patient advocate in delivery and coordination of patient care. Provides efficient and effective care with guidance from the physician during the clinic sessions, attends the clinics when scheduled and is dependable. Able to manage a number of patients at the same time with high energy and organization. Collaborates with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Center physicians, Program Director, and Medical Director, regarding clinic and patient needs. Education Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience Medical, surgical, home health or wound care experience preferred. Certification/Licensure Current MS RN license. Current CPR certification. Wound Care certification preferred. Special Qualifications Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions of practical situations. Must be able to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as web-based database programs and the internet.
