Nurse Tech - Medical Nursing

Job Summary Administers patient care to assigned patients under the direction and supervision of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Registered Nurse (RN). Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties to support quality patient outcomes and efficient unit operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides personal care and assistance to assigned patients. Performs treatments and procedures as directed by licensed nursing staff. Assists nurses and healthcare providers with examinations, treatments, special tests, and procedures. Cleans and maintains equipment after use according to established protocols. Participates in unit activities, including answering phones and call lights, distributing meals, performing environmental tasks, and completing other assigned duties. Participates in team conferences, shift reports, and patient care planning activities. Education High school diploma or GED preferred. Certification Current Nurse Technician certification preferred. Special Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English. Ability to perform physical demands of the position, including prolonged standing, walking, and lifting. Maintains good physical and emotional health necessary to perform job duties effectively. Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to use appropriate channels of communication. Ability to remain calm and function effectively in stressful situations. Demonstrates flexibility and cooperatioin with rotating shifts and/or duty assignments. Promotes positive interdepartmental and intradepartmental working relationships.
