Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), where your expertise will directly impact patient care and well-being. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across diverse clinical settings, including acute care, long-term care, outpatient clinics, and community health environments. You will be at the forefront of delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing services, utilizing advanced EMR systems and adhering to strict HIPAA regulations. Your energetic approach and dedication will help foster a supportive environment for patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics, including individuals with developmental disabilities and memory care needs. Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine individual care needs. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and medication management for pain control, sedation, or chronic conditions. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth to document patient interactions thoroughly and efficiently. Conduct specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including urinary and vascular), tube feeding management, ostomy care, and sterile processing when necessary. Manage acute pain episodes in emergency room or ICU settings by implementing appropriate interventions aligned with trauma medicine standards. Provide patient education on health coaching topics like medication adherence, nutrition, family planning, or disease management tailored to individual needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, hospice & palliative care programs, or behavioral health services to ensure seamless patient transitions and discharge planning. Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during all patient care activities. Support triage processes in urgent care or emergency room environments by prioritizing patient needs based on severity and acuity levels. Assist in complex diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection/processing or sonography when applicable. Engage with patients across diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal ventilator support, or individuals with disabilities to deliver personalized care that promotes recovery and comfort. Qualifications Valid RN or LPN license in accordance with state licensing requirements; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are required. Proven experience in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; hospital medicine experience is highly valued. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation. Hands-on experience with advanced nursing procedures including IV insertion/infusion therapy, catheterization (urinary/cardiac), suturing, phlebotomy, and infection control practices. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures and treatments; experience with medical records management is preferred. Strong assessment skills in physiology and anatomy knowledge to evaluate complex patient conditions effectively. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms, ICU units, outpatient clinics or home & community care settings. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs is a plus; familiarity with hospice & palliative medicine enhances your candidacy. Critical thinking skills combined with excellent communication abilities to educate patients and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams effectively.
