A Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures such as cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, stent placement, and electrophysiology procedures. Responsibilities include pre-procedure patient assessment and education, assisting cardiologists during procedures, monitoring hemodynamic status and cardiac rhythms, administering medications and conscious sedation, maintaining a sterile field, responding to emergencies, ensuring patient safety, and providing post-procedure recovery care and discharge instructions.
