POSITION OVERVIEW
The Cardiothoracic/Vascular Surgery Navigator serves as a specialized clinical professional responsible for coordinating and optimizing the patient experience across the continuum of cardiothoracic and vascular surgical care. This role ensures seamless coordination, high-quality education, accurate risk assessment, and consistent follow-up to support optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction. The Navigator collaborates closely with surgeons, advanced practice providers, nursing teams, and external vendors to maintain excellence in clinical operations and quality metrics.
EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited program or school of nursing Graduate of a medical assisting program and has passed the CMA/RMA Certification Examination of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or American Medical Technologists and maintains currency of the CMA/RMA credential ASN, BSN, or MSN, preferred
EXPERIENCE
1 year of cardiothoracic/vascular experience in inpatient or outpatient setting required. 2-3 years or more of prior cardiothoracic/vascular experience in inpatient or outpatient setting is preferred. Related experience in an ambulatory setting, preferably in a medical office.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
Montana Licensure as an RN or LPN CMA certification BLS ACLS, preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Excellent organizational skills Ability to collaborate with a wide range of individuals Strong verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of health care facilities and processes Knowledge of local community and surrounding areas Self-management skills Working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT Coding Medical terminology Microsoft Office experience including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
