About Northern Montana Hospital Northern Montana Hospital (NMH) is the center of a comprehensive system of medical and health care services, staffed with a team of caring professionals who are dedicated to meeting the growing needs of our Hi-Line communities. The not-for-profit, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital features a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department, with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and electronic medical record services. Our large, quiet labor/birthing rooms are private and located away from other patient care areas. The private patient rooms on the 5th floor Medical/Surgical Department boast views from every window. Administration, staff, and medical providers are committed to delivering high quality, comprehensive health care services to the people of the Hi-Line communities of Montana. Specialties of our active staff of doctors include Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Hematology, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, Pain Management, Pathology, Podiatry, Psychiatry, Psychology, Radiology and Women's Health. For the convenience of our patients, we also host visiting physicians at our clinics in the areas of: Cardiology Neurology Pediatric Pulmonology Urology Radiation Oncology Nephrology Endocrinology Optometry About the role We are seeking a dedicated Oncology Nurse Navigator, a registered nurse specializing in oncology care, to provide individualized guidance to patients across the cancer continuum—from initial suspicion or diagnosis through treatment, survivorship, or end-of-life care. This vital role focuses on reducing barriers to care, coordinating multidisciplinary services, and ensuring the delivery of timely, evidence-based, patient-centered oncology care. Serving as a consistent point of contact, the Oncology Nurse Navigator supports improved patient outcomes, satisfaction, and care efficiency by guiding patients and their families through complex treatment pathways, coordinating diagnostic workups and staging, facilitating timely referrals to oncology specialists (medical, radiation, and surgical), and monitoring adherence to established care timelines. Qualifications Must hold a RN License and bring a minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including at least 3 years in oncology or a related specialty, along with strong knowledge of cancer biology, staging, and treatment modalities. Exceptional communication, coordination, and patient advocacy skills are essential. Preferred Qualifications Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN®) or eligibility within 1-2 years Experience in oncology navigation or care coordination. Familiarity with oncology accreditation standards and experience working within multidisciplinary oncology programs. Experience with genetic testing, oral chemotherapy medications, and community resources preferred. This position is 8-hour day shifts. Health, dental, life, disability and
