Job Description

Shift:
0.9 FTE, Days, 12hrs Join our Perioperative Services team and provide exceptional patient-centered care across a variety of procedural settings, including the Operating Room, PACU, Same Day Services, Endoscopy, Cath Lab, and Interventional Radiology. Working collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, you'll play a vital role throughout the pre-, intra-, and post-procedure experience, ensuring safe, high-quality care, seamless patient flow, and outstanding clinical outcomes. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to expand your skills across multiple specialties while making a meaningful impact on every patient's surgical journey.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
Three years' experience in an Acute Care setting preferred. Previous experience delivering sedation preferred, with annual organizational competency, as well as experience with pre-operative preparation and phase two/procedural sedation recovery preferred.
EDUCATION
Graduate of a Professional School of Nursing required. Nurses involved in the care of orthopedic and spine patients must adhere to defined educational and competency requirements in compliance with DNV Orthopedic and Spine certification. Nurses providing care to orthopedic and spine patients must complete specialty-specific education and validate competency annually. Nurses are expected to participate in continuing education activities relevant to orthopedic and spine care, including updates on clinical guidelines, emerging technologies, and best practices. Educational areas may include, but are not limited to:
  • Musculoskeletal system anatomy and physiology
  • ERAS
  • Pain management strategies
  • Mobility and safety
  • Prevention of complications such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), infection, and pressure injuries
  • Glucose management
  • Compartment syndrome
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY
Current Montana License as a Registered Nurse required. Current and valid BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required. Certification in a recognized nursing specialty relevant to Perioperative Services, as outlined in MNA Contract.
