Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team on a Per Diem, PRN, and/or Contract travel basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional patient care across diverse clinical settings in Montana, focusing in rural and remote environments. We work with varied sites across Montana including long term care, critical access hospitals, and clinics. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in acute care, emergency medicine (Critical Access Hospital experience a plus), and specialized nursing procedures, ensuring high-quality outcomes for patients with complex needs. This position emphasizes flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering compassionate healthcare services in varied settings. Duties Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a variety of settings Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans. Administer medications and treatments such as IV infusions, suturing, and medication administration following strict aseptic techniques. Perform advanced procedures including catheterization, tube feeding management, and wound care, ensuring adherence to safety standards. Conduct patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations to determine clinical status and prioritize interventions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with acute pain, infectious diseases, trauma injuries, or requiring hospice and palliative services. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient information and medical records. Assist in diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing and basic medical imaging procedures like CT scans. Support triage processes in emergency settings and participate in discharge planning to ensure seamless patient transitions. Work with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges across various care environments including assisted living and memory care facilities. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols while delivering safe patient care. Experience Critical Access Hospital experience preferred with TNCC, PALS, and ACLS certifications preferred. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9). Knowledge of infectious disease management, trauma medicine protocols, and acute pain management strategies. Prior exposure to long-term care settings including nursing homes or sub-acute facilities is advantageous. Competence in performing phlebotomy, venipuncture, laboratory testing, and specimen collection/processing. Ability to adapt quickly to diverse clinical environments while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care. Demonstrated ability to work independently in rural or remote hospital settings while collaborating effectively with local healthcare teams.
