Job Description
Coordinates and supervises provision of patient care and patient flow in the ED consistent with the philosophy, policies, standards of care, and standards of practice of the organization, the nursing department, and the laws of the state. Education/Degree(s): Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN preferred. License(s): Current license to practice in North Carolina Training/Certification(s): Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS, required. CEN preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Complete knowledge of purpose and use of ED equipment. Knowledge and application of professional nursing theory, practice, and procedures. Ability to function effectively in a fast paced, stressful environment. Effective communication skills. Leadership skills, including ability to organize and prioritize, use critical thinking skills, and problem solve. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, other health care personnel, visitors, and the public.
