E Heart Tower General Information Tell us about the unit(s): Primary patient population is CV surgery and vascular surgery to include open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR, etc), thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy, etc.), esophagogastrectomy, AAA (open and endovascular), fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomies. We also receive overflow medical cardiology patients with diagnoses of heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block, etc. Number of Beds- 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds Number of Staff
- approximately 100 total Type of staff: o Day Shift
- 1 charge RN (routinely out of staffing), 13 RN s, 4 PCT s, 1.33 HUC o Night Shift
- 1 charge RN (routinely out of staffing), 13 RN s, 4 PCT s, 0.33 HUC Patient Ratios
- 1:5 patients per RN, 1:13 for PCT s Type of equipment
- Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various lifts EMR
- Cerner Typical hiring profile Skill Set Most recruited for: Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
