1 Job Description UNC Health Wayne is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ER RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency care environment. The RN will coordinate and deliver clinical nursing care utilizing the nursing process while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong emergency nursing skills, critical thinking abilities, and the capability to care for patients with complex and acute medical conditions. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care in accordance with professional nursing standards Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care based on patient acuity Monitor, evaluate, and document patient conditions accurately Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions Recognize changes in patient conditions and respond appropriately Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and compliance with hospital policies Assist in discharge planning and continuity of care coordination Participate in unit performance improvement and professional development activities Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment Requirements Minimum 2+ years of Emergency Department nursing experience required Active North Carolina or Compact Registered Nurse license Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program BLS Certification (AHA) Strong critical thinking, communication, and prioritization skills Ability to manage patients with complex and high-acuity conditions Why Join This Assignment?
