Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) Circulator for our Part-Time Hendersonville Outpatient Surgery Center (OSC). This vital role involves providing exceptional perioperative nursing care, ensuring patient safety, and supporting surgical teams in a fast-paced outpatient environment. The RN Circulator will play an integral part in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care before, during, and after surgical procedures. Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all necessary sterile supplies and equipment are available and functioning properly. Assist surgical teams by providing direct patient care, including patient assessment, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining aseptic technique throughout procedures. Coordinate patient flow and communication between team members to ensure smooth surgical operations. Monitor patients' condition during surgery, responding promptly to any changes or complications with appropriate interventions. Document all aspects of patient care accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support preoperative and postoperative patient education to promote understanding and comfort. Maintain strict infection control standards and ensure compliance with safety protocols in accordance with hospital policies and NCQA standards. Qualifications Valid RN license with current licensure in the state of practice. Proven experience in perioperative nursing, including circulating roles within outpatient surgery centers or hospitals. Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical procedures, and sterile processing protocols. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation. Experience working with diverse patient populations, including those with developmental disabilities or requiring special care such as memory or dementia care. Critical care experience or ICU background is highly desirable to manage acute situations effectively. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams. Additional skills in IV infusion, suturing, airway management, and emergency response are advantageous.
