Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract Take the next step in your nursing career by providing high-quality care to patients in a stepdown/progressive care setting. This role is ideal for an experienced RN ready to make a difference in a demanding yet rewarding environment. You'll be relied upon to deliver compassionate, effective nursing care while ensuring the safety and well-being of patients who need close observation and skilled intervention.
Key Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license Previous experience in a Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) required Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Proficient in the use of electronic medical records and bedside monitoring technology BLS and ACLS certifications (current) Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team Dedicated to patient advocacy, communication, and education
Schedule/Hours:
Variable shifts, depending on unit needs Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays if required
Core Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care to general medical-surgical units Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and manage intravenous therapies Administer medications and treatments as prescribed Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and support staff to develop and execute patient care plans Educate patients and families about conditions, post-discharge care, and recovery processes Maintain meticulous documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes Respond promptly and effectively to changes in patient status This is a unique opportunity to grow your clinical expertise while making a tangible impact on the lives of patients and their families.
